Featuring Award Winning Authentic Thai Cuisine Style Magazine's #1 Favorite Thai Restaurant 2009 Open 7 Days a Week Broadstone Marketplace (across from Bel-Air on East Bidwell) Sunday thru Thursday 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Review From Style Magazine Between carpooling and forgoing summer road trips, more and more people have nixed dining out from their weekly or even monthly agendas. But just this May, Thai Paradise opened in Broadstone Plaza to overwhelmingly positive business. Any night of the week this authentic Thai eatery is jam-packed. My boyfriend and I showed up at 8 p.m. on a Saturday night and got the last table in the house. As a Thai food lover, I was thrilled to get there and do my “job.” We started with the fresh spring rolls and chicken satay. The fresh spring rolls (as opposed to the fried) are a light and healthy version with rice noodles, cilantro and sprouts wrapped in soft rice paper and accompanied by both peanut and plum dipping sauces. If you’re like me and you love soup no matter what the weather, try the Tom Kha Kai, a coconut milk based broth with chicken, cilantro and mushrooms. If all you ever order at Thai restaurants is chicken pad Thai, I don’t have a problem telling you that you don’t have an adventurous bone in your body. Step out of the box and try a Thai curry. I happen to love green curry and pa-nang curry, but the yellow curry is where Thai Paradise really hits a homerun. Yellow curry is just that, yellow curry paste, potatoes, carrots, and your choice of meat. It’s sweet and smooth, yet packs that Thai kick that most of us are used to; the yellow curry is my number one recommendation! My boyfriend on the other hand, chose to dine on the light side and ordered the beef salad; a bed of lettuce topped with thin strips of sirloin and dressed lightly with a spicy citrus dressing that he thought was perfect. After it was all said and done, we walked out with our Thai craving satisfied for under $40 and we put a new place on the list for an affordable date night.• — Rachel Gabrielle, Style Magazine |
